Policy, Compliance & Risk Manager
Moorebank Intermodal Company (MIC) is a wholly owned Australian Government entity established to facilitate the development of an intermodal terminal at Moorebank - a nationally significant infrastructure project that will help Sydney manage the expected growth in freight moving through the city.
MIC has entered into agreements with Sydney Intermodal Terminal Alliance (SIMTA) to develop and operate the terminal. SIMTA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qube Holdings, one of Australia's largest and most experienced operators in the freight logistic industry.
Moorebank Logistics Park will deliver a range of benefits for the local community and broader economy, including: over $11 billion in economic benefits, including $120 million for south-western Sydney; the creation of around 6,800 jobs; a reduction in congestion growth in south-western Sydney through fewer trucks on the road; a better outcome for the environment and a package of community improvements.

Your new role
Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, improvement and oversight of governance systems and frameworks to ensure MIC complies with all Commonwealth Government statutory and policy requirements. You will work closely with the CEO and Finance Manager as well as liaising with the Board and Audit and Risk Committee.
You will ensure MIC’s procurement framework and processes align with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and you will be responsible for developing an appropriate probity framework for business decision making processes and develop and implementation of a compliance framework for the company. You will work closely with our internal auditors to review and identify opportunities for improvement.
Other aspects of the role include oversight of the risk management framework, preparation of written documentation to support policy changes and business improvement initiatives for presentation to the Audit and Risk Committee, undertaking project work and providing regular training and consultative services to MIC people.

What you’ll need to succeed
You will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of success in a similar role. Experience within a GBE or an Australian Government entity will be highly regarded. You will possess extensive knowledge of Commonwealth Government policy and legislative requirements, in particular the Public Governance and Accountability Act, the Commonwealth GBE Guidelines and Commonwealth Procurement Rules. You will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to engage, influence and build relationships with key stakeholders. You will also hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Public Sector Management or Law.
