Moorebank Intermodal Company (MIC) is a wholly owned Australian Government entity established to facilitate the development of an intermodal terminal at Moorebank - a nationally significant infrastructure project that will help Sydney manage the expected growth in freight moving through the city.
MIC has entered into agreements with Sydney Intermodal Terminal Alliance (SIMTA) to develop and operate the terminal. SIMTA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qube Holdings, one of Australia's largest and most experienced operators in the freight logistic industry.
Moorebank Logistics Park will deliver a range of benefits for the local community and broader economy, including: over $11 billion in economic benefits, including $120 million for south-western Sydney; the creation of around 6,800 jobs; a reduction in congestion growth in south-western Sydney through fewer trucks on the road; a better outcome for the environment and a package of community improvements.

Your new role
Reporting to the General Manager-Legal, Corporate Affairs and People, and working closely with the Deputy General Counsel and Delivery team, you will be responsible for providing high quality legal advice regarding our contractual arrangements. You will use your negotiation and problem solving skills to address issues that arise during the delivery of the project.
Other aspects of the role include advising on property requirements, including easement instruments, subdivision plans, leases and licenses. You will prepare detailed briefings to the Commonwealth in their capacity as landowner. You can also expect to provide support in the areas of dispute management and resolution and company secretarial duties including supporting our corporate governance framework and best practice as a Commonwealth Government Business Enterprise. What you’ll need to succeed
You will hold a current Australian practising certificate and bring around 3-5 years’ experience in construction and/or property development law, delivery of complex major projects and corporate governance/company secretarial experience in an in-house environment. You will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to engage with, influence and build relationships with our stakeholders.
