For the preparation of the environmental impact assessments for the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal, Moorebank Intermodal Company (MIC) is assessing the terminal's likely impact on noise, air and water quality.
As part of this, MIC collected data about the existing environmental conditions at various locations near the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal. The monitoring was undertaken with consideration of the regulatory guidelines for noise, ambient air quality and surface water, with results evaluated to determine whether they were within the environmental criteria. The majority of environmental monitoring began in August 2012. Further environmental monitoring parameters (to monitor particular matter) were implemented in April 2014.
The Moorebank Intermodal Terminal Environmental Monitoring Report (November 2016) provides a comprehensive summary of all monitoring results for noise, air and water quality, for the duration of the monitoring undertaken until June 2016.
